Training Programme: 2020

The WCFID supports individuals, staff and parents by providing broad-based training that contributes to learning, skills development and capacity building in rural and urban communities. Workshops, held during the 2019/2020 financial period, reached 2441 attendees at 91 workshops. For certain courses and workshops, application is made to statutory bodies such as HPCSA and SACSSP, for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Points.

The course, `The Right to Protection: Identifying and reporting sexual abuse of children and adults with intellectual disability’, is a HPCSA; SACSSP (CPD points) and a SACE (CPTD points) accredited course.

As an option, certain workshops are also available for onsite training: ‘Understanding Intellectual Disability’; ‘Learning by Doing’; ‘Learning to Think’; ‘Learning to use the Toilet’; ‘The Right to Protection’ and ‘Look Ahead’.

As a result of the national lock down, venue based training has been postponed. The WCFID is offering online programmes starting with a series of free webinars. CLICK HERE to register for the online programmes.
